What is the kit postale?
It is a yellow envelope you collect, free of charge, from a post office in the Sportello Amico network — an ordinary counter cannot give it to you or take it back. Inside are Modulo 1 (your details, your family, your address), Modulo 2 (your work and your income, needed for many permit types), and a sheet of notes.
Everything is printed in Italian only. The boxes are numbered, one letter per square, and the notes refer to articles of law rather than to what you should write. That is the problem this site exists to solve.
How it works

Check the answer sheet
You get a sheet ordered by the form's own box numbers, with the Italian wording beside each one and the exact text to copy — a code, an X, a date, a name in capitals.
Copy it onto the paper form
Print the sheet or keep it on your phone, then fill the real form in block capitals with a black pen, one letter per box.
Have these next to you
You will finish in about twenty minutes if you start with:
- Your passport — names spelled exactly as printed there
- Your current permesso or carta, if you are renewing or updating one
- Your codice fiscale
- Your address in Italy with the CAP, and a phone number
- Your visa and the border you entered by, for a first application
- Your employer's details or your income papers, if Modulo 2 applies to you
- Details of your spouse and children under 14, if they go on the application
What it costs at the counter
The tool works out your own total, because the contributo depends on the permit you ask for. A one-year renewal usually looks like this:

Plus the post office's own commission, usually € 1,50–2,50. No contributo is due for an aggiornamento, a duplicato, or a conversion of a valid permit.
